Test Track Just Took a MASSIVE Step Towards Reopening in EPCOT! - AllEars.Net

We’ve been waiting for this day for what feels like FOREVER!

Test Track closed in June 2024 to make way for the 3rd edition of the ride, which, from concept art and Disney’s own wording, takes us back to inspiration from the original ride, World of Motion. While the ride is still called Test Track, it’s been undergoing quite the refurbishment, and we’ve been anxiously awaiting when it would open again. Now, it’s just taken another big step towards reopening — the walls are DOWN!

When we stepped into EPCOT on June 9th, we noticed immediately that the giant walls that had been blocking our view of the ride were gone — now you can get a clear view of what’s going on when you walk by!

There are still shrubs blocking the way to ensure no one steps into the closed-off area, but it’s clear to see that they’ve been working hard. We can see the signage, which confirms that the ride’s name has not changed, and we can really see some of the details to compare the new design to the old.

It certainly looks like a lot has changed, but we know most of the refurbishment is on the inside, so we’re curious to see how that’s changed, too. One of the biggest ones? Take a look at the sign.

Yes, it’s a brand new sign we spotted last week, but with a relatively similar font! It’s no longer sponsored by Chevrolet, so all of that signage has been removed. We also overheard a Cast Member saying that they’re expecting the ride to open sometime between August and October! That lines up with the “late summer” timeline Disney previously announced.
